For those returning customers, here's a few things you should know:
- If you have an existing customer account with us, your account will be migrated automatically to the new system. That means you will use the same email address and password that you use today to log on to the new system once it goes live.
- However, we did not migrate over order history from our existing system. Put simply, we decided it was too complex to map the old data structure to match the new data structure. If for some reason you need to access your order history after the upgrade, please contact us, and we'll be able to get that data for you.
- Also because of complexity, we were only able to migrate your most recently used address into the new system. We know of a few dozen customers that place several orders at a time and ship to their various relatives. Unfortunately, you're going to have to type in those extra addresses again. However, after you add them the first time to the new system, they'll be saved in the new system.
There's a lot to like about Big Commerce. In particular, it functions beautifully on mobile phones! So given that 50% of our website visitors use their iPhones and Androids, we're very pleased to finally provide a better shopping experience for mobile buyers on the go.
